What Does it take to Become a Foster or Adoptive Parent?

Some of the basics…

  1. Be of good moral character.
  2. Submit an application.
  3. Have a desire to care for children.
  4. Be at least 21 years old.
  5. Take first aid and CPR training.
  6. All members of your household “on board” with fostering or adopting.
  7. Have your finger prints taken.
  8. Provide the names of four references, unrelated to you.
  9. Attend 20 hours of training.
  10. Have a medical exam (everyone over 18 in household).
