Utilizing her extensive experience in the field of social work, Cynthia taught sociology courses at Pierce College, and College of The Canyons. She has also served as a Certified Mediator for Consortium for Children’s P3 program, and as an Adoption Clinical Training (ACT) facilitator for Kinship Center. Cynthia is the mother of two sons, her gratifying parenting experience and awareness of the need for parents led her to serve as a mentor parent to foster youth with the Department of Children and Family Services.
Cynthia had loving parents who provided an enriched, supportive environment. It is her desire to be influential in allowing foster children to experience the same. Her passion for securing permanency for children of color inspired her to establish the non-profit organization, Alliance Adoption Assistance.

Sheila Davis, BA Secretary, Consultant
For 10 years, Sheila has played a valuable role at Silicon Valley Toxic Coalition (SVTC) in shaping environmental policy in the high-tech industry. She is one of the co-founders of the Computer Take Back Campaign and sits on its steering committee. In 1996 Sheila developed the first electronic recycling legislation to reach the California Governor’s desk, and in 1999, spearheaded the first pilot programs in the country to collect and recycle electronic waste from the residential curbside.
Before becoming SVTC’s Executive Director, Sheila served as Program Director of the Sustainable Technologies Program (formerly the Clean Computer Campaign). Sheila’s research, and policy development led to a successful ban on hazardous electronic waste from the California municipal landfills and the subsequent passage of the first electronic recycling legislation in the nation. Sheila holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California and has served as a journalist, state legislative aide and community development specialist.
Although her career to this point has focused on environmental issues, Sheila has always believed children are our most precious asset. Influenced by her grandmother who was a long-term foster parent to four special needs children for over 35 years, Sheila was excited to join Alliance Adoption Assistance. Sharing her expertise in non-profit issues, Sheila is instrumental in improving the lives of children by serving as secretary and a consultant to Alliance.
